This will sound completely off the wall but "be good at wind sports" (yes as in sailing, wind surfing, kiteboarding, etc). Some of the best entrepreneurs I've followed are naturals at wind sports and I believe it's not coincidence. There are a ton ...

[...] There are a lot of parallels between wind sports and startups. One thing we’ve encountered lately with JumpBox is something I can only describe as the tendency to “fight the wind” in our desire to artificially accelerate the pace of adoption. Everyone who’s tried to wind surf for the first time falls into the trap of trying to muscle the sail into position instead of respecting the wind and working with it. You end up completely wearing yourself out on that first day. By day two you’re so physically exhausted that your only option is to learn to work with the wind. [...]

[...] When we originally started JumpBox we had the idea that we’d create the toolset that allowed software vendors to turn their existing software applications into appliances. We saw the opportunity around virtual appliances and thought that seemed like a good way to tackle it. We eventually shifted the approach from building the toolset towards selling Open Source applications as appliances ourselves. The ultimate endpoint that we see remains the same but we had to change up the path to get there based on factors like 1) we have limited sales experience 2) our platform wasn’t very mature at the time 3) rPath - a competitor under that scenario - had already thouroughly canvassed the world of software providers with this proposition. The “tricky stuff” as Lazaridis says, is in finding how to become sustainable, how to tack with the wind while moving continuously towards the desired destination. [...]

[...] According to Sean Tierney, a young entrepreneur and founder of Jumpbox, it’s not just that entrepreneurs are attracted to those sports, but entrepreneurs have a lot to learn from a sport like kite boarding.
